Hi

I would like to know if there is onlu one source for the September 13, 2002 concert where Roger Waters and Jeff played together.
I have only seen one video of it, and the audio isn't really that good. The reason why I am so interrested in this particular concert it of course the fact that it's the only time ever (to my knowledge) that Roger has performed What God Wants pt. 3, and it happens to be one of my favorite songs from Amused to Death.
Is this one the only surfaced version? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZbP7NfL24o
The video quality is quite good, so if a better audience recorder exists it would make an excellent video. (Well a second camera angle wouldn't be bad either )
I hope someone can shed a little light on this otherwise quite obscure footage.

cheers

North American syndicated radio show InTheStudio celebrates the 35th Anniversary of PINK FLOYD's Wish You Were Here as producer and host Redbeard uncovers differing opinions among bandmembers David Gilmour, Roger Waters, Nick Mason & the late Richard Wright on what the true state of PINK FLOYD's health, as a band, really was as early as 1975. Listen as Gilmour, Waters, Wright and Mason discuss life after The Dark Side of the Moon and how the success of that album impacted their professional and creative lives. In addition, hear a rare full interview online with the late Rick Wright on what Wish You Were Here meant to him. This show airs this week on more than 55 stations in the U.S. & Canada.

Just like to know if anyone will be filming with their camcorders at the upcoming Wall shows? Most cams have viewing screens, to avoid been spotted, i recommend using what I use is old medical xray film to place over the monitor using tape across the top and a small tack (blue tac) to hold at the bottom of the monitor. You can flip the cut out of xray upwards to see stuff on your cam monitor. This acts as a dimmer or darkens the monitors of your cam considerably but you can just see where you point the cam through the xray film or something that is dark and transparent. Tape over any lights on the cam as well. If your cam is black, wear a black tshirt or something. I usually smuggle the cam inside my undies wearing two pairs of undies so your cam is protected by crotch moisture and is a bit more comfortable as well and wear firm fitting undies so your cam does not fall out down your pants. Wear loose fitting pants and extra large tshirt so it covers up the bulge in your pants. I have smuggled cams when body searched at heavy rock concerts and they don't feel your crotch area. If they use metal detectors, you may get caught, never mind!!!!
Further advice is film from the stands area, not the main floor area as it would be easier to get spotted cause you need to hold the cam higher. Hold the cam against the chest area, looking down onto your darkened monitor regularly to see if it is straight at the subject, (stage or band members). Dont do too much zooming in fully as this makes the picture unsteady. The idea of filming if you are far from stage is to view how you see it from where you sit. Use optical zoom setting only. I hate digitised zooms because it gets fuzzy when you past the optical level. Keep steady as possible. Believe me, it is hard work doing this and can take away the enjoyment of the actual show, but in the end if you get away with it, you will feel proud that you got it all on your cam. Other advice is dont film too much of the screens that show the band members, film the real parts of the stage and band crew.
Good luck and be the best bootlegger in town!!!!

(but then again, it could have been a black and white photo...) I believe it is circa-70- or 1972?? photo. Anyone know what /or what I saw that in or where it may be now? I've searched the internet - no go. Looked in my few books -nothing. Asked my brother, whose collection we had looked at together in the 70's and even though he has all the stuff, he cannot recall it. ??? I'm truly puzzled. I'm very interested in finding that picture again. Means a lot to me.

it still amazes me how many so called "masters" pop up. this seems to be a good example. mind you all out there - i do APPRECIATE every (such as this) effort to make things available, but very, very often the information about lineage is (to say the least) incomplete:

to the best of my limited knowledge, there are three different recordings of this show in existance (probably way more, but ...)

1
audio part of the well known video ("mind your throat" dvd bootleg shit rip-off).

2
audience recording - this one comes from a recording done by mike d. he used to work as an engineer for advision studios (main clients were yes and the softs) around the time and took a uher report to the show. the only ever copy (he was never a trader) he made for roy w. who was then married to the softs secretary - that's where i got my 1st cassette copy from in the mid 80's. in the early 00's i managed to stay at his beautiful farm house in norwich (he's a teacher now) and copy his master from reel to dat.

to make things worse, this guy is still sitting on boxes full of yes soundboards he did himself between 75 and 77. all the earlier shows ("yessongs") he simply recorded music/records over - with his "chum" roy.

3
audience recording with sennheiser mics placed on stage into uher report done by jack henry m. (see 1). this is ahm only (at the moment - the rest still may be in nyc) , but fuxxing brilliant sounding. never managed to get a copy. it's in the hands of a well known hoarder.

so here we go: at best, this is a 4th generation copy. why call it "master" ????

I understand the significance, the nostalgia, but David Gilmour's Comfortably Numb is DIFFERENT from Roger Waters' Comfortably Numb. David's is more rock inspired, Roger's is more dreary degradation inspired (which is correct in my opinion).

I see David's being part of the show as a mistake and a great thing, so it cancels out. David should be part of the show or not there at all.

I feel that The Wall 1980/81 shows were the best there was, including the Comfortably Numb solo. It fit the song. David Gilmour's rock anthem 1988/89/94 etc solos don't fit what Comfortably Numb means. 1980-08-08's solo will send chills down your spine.

Now it isn't a bad thing that David will perform for one song on The Wall 2010 tour, but I think it's just out of place. The tour will be fantastic either way.

But I like you all and thought I could share my opinion here.

Well I'm back online after several months without the internet. Bet that sounds awful to you, but it gave me time to record a lot of my tapes, albums and video soundtracks and more properly organize everything in here. Got a new computer and several 1.5 TB harddrives and now I'm gonna have a ton of goodies for all of you out there.
So keep your eyes on the other bands section of the site especially. The History of Buffalo Concert Series will resume shortly, I'll have another few goodies from Quentin's Closet, and no I haven't forgotten the Rainbow Box. That's just got to be nitpicked over by me and Wromanus and should be to you soon (I know we keep saying that, but I mean it this time). Perhaps he'll let me in on doing something with that ZP stuff too.
So I'll be seeing you on the threads. Hai!

As a companion to the best audio quality '72-'73 thread, I thought perhaps I'd start a thread to get everyone's take on the all-time best performance of Dark Side of the Moon with regards to both audio quality and performance quality.
